Behind the Artist

Born in Portland Maine, to a loving family who escaped the shadows of the Armenian Genocide. Corey, was educated in Andover Massachusetts where his passion for art was nurtured by renowned New England portrait artist and colleague of “All of the Eight”, Francis B. Dalton. From her, Corey took private lessons during all of his youth.

As an art student, Corey was recognized as possessing exceptional gifts. His art was shown at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Boris Mersky Gallery on Newbury Street before graduating with honors from art school.

Corey has been represented by the Howard Yezerski Gallery, collected by the Addison Gallery of American Art and invited to show at the Gulbenkian Foundation’s Museum of Art in Paris. His work has also been shown at the Worcester Art Museum, Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, the MFA and Illuminations at Massachusetts General Hospital.

In 2009 he was selected to participate in a group show at “Illuminations” at The Massachusetts General Hospital.
